Technology @ No.1
At Omokoroa No.1 School, we are using a integrated approach to ICT in the classroom. The mix of iPads and Chromebooks vary between classes/year levels, bring the best to all levels of the school.
Chromebooks & Google for Education
Chromebooks feature mainly from Year 3 up, with an very good device to student ratio.
Students use Google for Education, each having their own account and access to their learning at all times, no matter where they are! They are learning to become proficient in Google Drive - using Docs, Forms, Sheets, Slides and more. By integrating these, students have been able to produce a number of quality, paper-free assignments and tasks.
We have implemented Hapara Teacher Dashboard to allow teachers to send documents, lessons and have discussions through comments with students throughout their learning.
iPads in Classrooms
iPads are used predominately in the Junior School area.
All teachers and classrooms are familiar with these, due to continual Professional Development by teacher Fiona Jackson.
Year 7/8 students are allowed to BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), with iPads being commonly brought and successfully used.
